Pay Rate: $64,373.76 - $80,467.20/annually

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Consumer Lending, this position assists the Director of Consumer Lending with the day-to-day supervision of the staff and ensures that directives and procedures are being adhered to.  Helps oversee the performance of lending staff, which includes Direct and Indirect Lending and Credit Card keeping the department’s workflow current, and implementing a self-motivated environment. In addition, this position performs duties that supports all lending underwriting policies and procedures; maintains quality control processes; and shares responsibility for off-site special events related to lending services and delivery methods. In the absence of the Director of Consumer Lending, this position is responsible for all management duties and responsibilities. The Lending Supervisor will assist the Director of Consumer Lending in managing the day to day operations of the lending staff.  In addition, the Lending Supervisor will ensure efficient accurate processes within the department to ensure the members experience in a positive one.


  • Assists the Leadership Team in the strategic planning process, including assisting in the development of the annual business plan, the operating expense budget, the capital budget and monthly reporting of variances.
  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring that all loans are decisioned in a timely manner and within established lending guidelines.
  • Responsible for ensuring the processing and documentation of loan files are done efficiently and accurately.
  • Along with the Indirect Dealer Reps, manages business relationships with existing and prospective dealerships.
  • Assists the Director with personnel related to the activities of the department including, but not limited to: training and cross training, interviewing and sales techniques, disciplinary action, employee counseling, performance evaluations, monitoring staff attendance, and terminations.
  • Assist in setting attainable production goals for the entire lending operations, monitor individual as well as departmental progress towards goals.
  • Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Represents the Credit Union in a positive and professional manner.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains member and other sensitive information with confidentiality.

Job Requirements


  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in loan underwriting and 1 year supervisory experience required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a business related field preferred with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate loan requests and make credit decisions.
  • Ability to understand and work proficiently with credit scoring and automated approval systems is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with staff and all levels of management.
  • Position requires the ability to determine realistic and attainable strategic plans to meet business development goals. Knowledge of budgeting process is preferred.
