Job Description

Pay Range: $64,373.76 - $80,467.20 annually

The Systems Analyst is responsible for application and technical support, including leveraging the functionality of the application(s), management of the vendor relationship, maintaining a professional working relationship with the end users of the applications, serving as the highest level of troubleshooting expertise and technical competency for Nuvision Federal Credit Union. As an extension of the IT Department, this role will be expected to support and enforce IT policies and procedures. This individual will be self-motivated, display leadership, forward thinking, capable of operating both in the strategic and tactical level.                      

 Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical leadership for evaluating and scoping new initiatives for assigned business partner. Serves as ultimate technical escalation expertise for assigned application including making recommendations on feasibility and required resources.    

  • In coordination with business unit and technical staff, define, write and test technical specifications and assist in preparation of functional specifications.

  • Effectively manage communication between end users, vendors and Information Technology departments to resolve production and development environment problems.

  • Leads/coordinates upgrades, enhancements, testing, and validation for systems of assigned business unit partners.

  • Provides 1st level systems support to their respective business partner. Serves as advisor to business unit partners to research and/or resolve end-user problems or questions regarding business applications.

  • Develop professional relationships with all customers, by establishing open communication and developing and maintaining functional competency in the business area. Develops and maintains technical expertise of assigned applications.

  • Manage applications to insure functioning at an optimal level. Manage the installation of applications, releases and enhancements on development, test, and disaster recovery and production systems.

  • Participate in capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of assigned applications.  Serve as a technical liaison to other departments in regards to installations and upgrade issues.

  • Participates in special projects as directed by IT management.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in the financial services industry as a Business or Systems Analyst.

  • 3+ years’ experience gathering user requirements for scoping exercises.

  • 1+ year experience with Fiserv DNA core system required.

  • Experience implementing integrated business applications solutions.

  • Knowledge of information systems development methodologies and techniques.

  • Knowledge of SQL and/or various relational database concepts and languages.

  • Strong understanding of core and ancillary source systems utilized in  a financial institution.
  • Excellent written, verbal and overall presentation skills.

  • Excellent and demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with stakeholders, gather requirements, understand intricacies (interrelation between needs/wants, legal compliance, system capabilities, etc.) and develop thoughtful solutions.

  • Proficient in a project management software tool and in Microsoft applications (word, excel, outlook).

  • Possess excellent competencies in the areas of customer service, technical skills, professionalism and trust.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Analytical or Financial fields

  • Must possess the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team. Communication skills including written, oral and presentation skills are required.  Must be able to perform complex analysis and produce professional documentation with recommendations.  A strong bias for action is essential.

  • PMP Certification a plus.
