Pay rate: $56,743.07 - $70,928.84 annually

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Marketing Specialist oversees the development, execution, and internal communications of multi-channel marketing materials including direct mail, email, website, social, online, in-branch collateral, and other. 

The Marketing specialist owns the successful implementation of their campaigns & related marketing initiatives and is responsible for all project aspects and elements including project organization and management, clear status updates, budget updates and timelines, project briefs, design options, copy, lists, resource requirements and the achievement of expected results and assigned goals.

The Marketing specialist acts as the point-of-contact and liaison between Marketing and internal key stakeholders including lending, retail branches, call center, Analytics, and project management teams. This key function provides clear, consistent two-way internal communications to ensure that all stakeholders’ needs are understood and are informed on all aspects of marketing projects that impact their areas.                                                                                                                             

 Responsibilities

  • Develops, recommends and implements strategic and creative direction for marketing campaigns to drive results that contribute to the success of key performance indicators such as organic membership growth, member retention, member profitability and brand awareness. Creates marketing campaign briefs and project management plans that include:  campaign purpose/objective, internal stakeholders, target audience, list select, media channels, touch points, measurements, testing, drop dates, key project milestones, resources, budget, expected results.
  • Oversees creation and execution of marketing materials for campaigns/projects to ensure they meet branding guidelines, compliance standards, key stakeholder and VP of Marketing approval (includes: design, copy, layout, ready for print and digital output). Ensures products and services are appropriately merchandised and branches are appropriately branded.
  • Provides clear, accurate, and transparent project updates via centralized marketing calendar and weekly meetings with internal key project stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with Analytics function to ensure appropriate measures are being tracked and reported. Reports campaign results on key metrics.
  • Reviews, recommends and manages external resources to ensure successful project/campaign launch including print, letter shops, designers, copywriters, web, others. Reviews and audits vendor relationships to evaluate service levels, performance and negotiate pricing. 
  • Researches and recommends alternative and/or emerging marketing channels/approaches.
  • Monitors and tracks expenses to proactively address variances to the budget.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent is required.
  • At least 5 years of Marketing project management, product marketing or general marketing experience is required.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a Customer/Member Service environment is required.
  • Project management experience is required.
  • Hands on design skills with creating both offline and online materials and proven copy writing skills is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of: Customer segmentation; Brand/ Product positioning; Offer testing; Traditional marketing techniques such as direct mail and print collateral; New media marketing techniques including social, online marketing, mobile; Financial product experience is required.
  • Ability to read reports, extrapolate data and communicate results/findings. Demonstrated ability to communicate with stakeholders, gather requirements, understand intricacies (interrelation between members needs/wants, product offerings, legal compliance and system capabilities) and develop thoughtful solutions.
  • General Knowledge of computers and computer software applications with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software).
